Honestly this all seems kind of made up. It sounds like you are tying several completely unrelated incidents together and calling it some kind of movement. I don't believe that this supposed Sovereign Citizens movement really exists. Just a few separate whackos. Unless there is a whacko central website, or they start coordinating planned attacks, it seems to me that this is a waste of homeland security resources. What about gangs? What about the mexican border? I'm absolutely not opposed to law enforcement being prepared to defend themselves but the incidents of these Anarchists committing violent crimes seems to warrant little more than a memo in the grand scheme of things, considering all of the real issues that police have to deal with every day. Maybe you're getting a little too into conspiracy theories. I mean you said yourself theres no leader, no organization... The same can't be said of the cartels and the real terrorists.

Unfortunately, you got it very much backward. "The short answer: a sovereign citizen is someone who believes that he or she is above all laws."

A sovereign citizen is one who believes that the state is *NOT* above the law.

You are, unfortunately, part of the problem. The movement is growing because it is about truth and justice. The "potential violent" nature of this "movement" is because criminals often see this as something they like because at first glance it can look like you can break laws with impunity. Nothing if further from the truth, however, criminals abuse everything else, why wouldn't they abuse this.

Your article, though well written, has holes that 747s are flying through with the landing gear down. You might want to study some stuff before writing next time. Black's Law Dictionary might be a first stop. I would recommend finding out the difference between a "person" and a "natural person" and move on from there. I do, however, suspect that you really don't care. You have your opinions, the facts be damned. Its good to be determined, but, what if your determination is wrong according to 1000 years of basic law principals that have been washed from modern society?

I really don't expect you to recant. That would be requesting far too much. You make your living writing this stuff, why would you change. For the truth? I doubt it. Keep writing your stuff. Someday you may wish you had looked it all up in Blacks Law Dictionary before you came down on the side of tyranny.

Nice to see you on forbes.com. I follow tax protesters but not with your focus. Funny that I posted something about Ron Paul and the Browns and then saw your piece.

I noticed in August that this stuff is starting to go local
